The Russian princes at the end of the day notwithstanding ruthless massacres and utterly savage destructions coming from the Mongols all the same preferred to live with the overlordship of the Mongol Empire rather than to suffer the domination of the Teutonic and Livonian genocidal crusaders from the West.

PRINCE ALEXANDER NEVSKI’s youngest son, DANIEL (1261-1303), received MOSCOW (founded in 1147 by PRINCE YURI DOLGORUKI of the RURIKID dynasty) as princely appanage in 1263 and his sovereign lineage symbolized and acted in reality for the restoration of Russia’s independence from the Mongols in 1480 (Ugra River Battle) and officially in 1502. The last Rurikid having ruled Russia is Vassili IV (born c.1552/ruled 1606 to 1610/died in 1612).
